Introduction

Duisenberg school of finance offers a career oriented training in Finance and Law leading to an LLM. The programme is designed for students who require an understanding of economic and legal methods necessary for dealing with the new and rapidly changing financial instruments and legal areas of modern commercial practice. In particular, it seeks to provide students with competence in corporate finance, quantitative methods and financial instruments and more focused skills in corporate law, international business transactions and emerging markets law and finance. Case analysis and simulations will be integrated in the programme. The training, which is strongly international with an emphasis on the legal areas of the European Community and the United States, introduces students to the methodological tools employed in modern accounting, corporate finance, and international business law analysis. Not only do the courses encourage students to make active use of such tools, but they are introduced to most recent research in the main areas of finance and law.
