- Duisenberg
The Board of Duisenberg school of finance is comprised of high profile representatives from the Dutch financial sector and academic institutions. The composition of the board is illustrative of the solid foundation that will enable Duisenberg school of finance to realise its ambitions.
| Joseph B.M. Streppel (Chair) Jos Streppel is chairman of the Dutch Corporate Governance Code Monitoring Committee. From 1998 till 2009, he was Chief Financial Officer of AEGON N.V. Jos Streppel started his career in 1973, occupying treasury and investment positions at one of AEGON's predecessor companies in the Netherlands. In 1986, he became the Chief Financial Officer of FGH Bank, joining the bank's Executive Board the following year. In 1991, Mr. Streppel was appointed Chairman and CEO of the merchant bank Labouchère. Four years later, he became Chairman of FGH Bank. In 1998, Mr. Streppel was named as AEGON's Chief Financial Officer and in 2000, he was appointed to the Group's Executive Board. Mr. Streppel is a member of the Supervisory Boards of both Royal KPN N.V and Van Lanschot Bankiers N.V. |
| Klaas Knot (Treasurer) Klaas Knot (1967) is currently deputy Treasurer General and Director of Financial markets at the Dutch Ministry of Finance where he is responsible for financial sector policies and regulation. Klaas is also part-time professor in Money and Banking at the University of Groningen and has published many articles in leading (international) professional journals in the field of monetary and financial economics. He is a board member of the recently established Duisenberg School of Finance. Klaas was previously associated with the De Nederlandsche Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the Dutch Pensions and Insurance Supervisory Authority. |
| Ference Lamp Ference Lamp (1971) was appointed CFO of SNS REAAL in April 2009 and has extensive experience in the financial services industry. Since 2000, Ference Lamp had been working for Lehman Brothers. His final position was Managing Director of the Financial Institutions Group, which is responsible for advising financial institutions in the Benelux. From 1996 until 2000, he worked at Fortis Investment Bank in Amsterdam as Associate Corporate Finance & Capital Markets, among other positions. Other present position of Ference Lamp: board member of Radio Netherlands Worldwide. |
| Jan van Rutte Jan van Rutte is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fortis Bank Nederland. After graduating in Economics from the Erasmus University Rotterdam he started his career in the financial control department of Algemene Bank Nederland. In 1981 Jan joined Pierson Heldring & Pierson (later MeesPierson - a member of Fortis Group), where he worked in various positions in Finance & Control. Furthermore Jan van Rutte is a member of the Board of Holland Financial Centre, and the Board of the Dutch Banking Associations, participating in various committees. |
| Koos Timmermans Koos Timmermans is a member of the Executive Board and Chief Risk Officer of the ING Group. Koos Timmermans started his career with ING in 1996, as Head of Corporate Market Risk Management and later as Head of Treasury ING Insurance. Before ING, Koos Timmermans worked at IBM´s European Treasury and at ABN Amro in the Financial Markets interest rates and FX derivatives area. |
| Lex Hoogduin Lex Hoogduin became an Executive Director of De Nederlandsche Bank on 1 January 2009. Lex Hoogduin is responsible for economic policy and research, financial stability and financial markets, payments and statistics. In addition, Lex Hoogduin is part-time Professor of Monetary Economics and Financial Institutions at the University of Amsterdam. Before joining DNB’s Governing Board, Lex Hoogduin was Chief Economist of the Robeco Group (2005-2008) and Managing Director of the IRIS research institute. In the twenty-five years prior to that, he had worked two stints at DNB. From 2001 to 2005 he held the post of Director of the Research Division. In the period 1997-2001, Lex Hoogduin was personal advisor to Wim Duisenberg, first President of the ECB. Lex Hoogduin graduated in General Economics from the University of Groningen in 1980, and obtained a PhD in Economics in 1991. |
Angelien Kemna From 2002 to July 2007 Kemna was CEO of ING Investment Management Europe, where she was responsible for more than EUR 150 billion of assets under management. From 2001 to 2004, Angelien worked as global Chief Investment Officer. Previous to that she served in various positions at Robeco Group. While working with Robeco, she also was part-time professor of Finance at Maastricht University from 1993 - 1999. Before joining the asset management industry, Angelien Kemna pursued an academic career. From 1988-1991 she was associate professor of Finance at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Angelien holds a PhD in Finance from Erasmus University Rotterdam (1988). Kemna holds several supervisory and advisory positions, amongst others, member of the supervisory board of the University of Leiden and chairman of the supervisory board of Yellow&Blue, a Dutch renewable energy venture capital company. In addition, she is affiliated with the Erasmus School of Economics in Rotterdam, where she has been a part-time professor of Corporate Governance and Financial Econometrics since September 2007. |
